The Story Behind Your 911 GT3
In this article
The car in your hands is a 1:32 model of one of the most respected driver's cars ever built. Here's where the real one comes from, what makes it special, and how to get the most out of your Aetron model.
Where the GT3 came from
The first 911 GT3 arrived in 1999, on the 996-generation 911. The idea was simple: take the 911, cut weight, sharpen the chassis, and give it an engine built for the track. Every GT3 since has followed the same recipe: a high-revving flat-six, suspension developed in motorsport, and aerodynamics that work rather than just look good.
What makes the current GT3 special
Your model is based on the current GT3 (the 992 generation, launched in 2021). Its 4.0-litre flat-six makes 510 PS without a turbocharger and revs all the way to 9,000 rpm, which is rare today. The swan-neck rear wing is mounted from above, which keeps the underside of the wing clean so it produces more downforce. Up front, the double-wishbone suspension comes from the 911 RSR race car.
What's on your model
1:32 scale, 13.9 cm long. Die-cast metal body, opening doors, LED lights with engine sound, pull-back action and rubber tyres. Look at the rear: the swan-neck wing and twin centre exhausts follow the real car.
Getting the most out of it
- Pull-back: pull it back a hand's length on a smooth floor and let go. Don't push it forward or spin the wheels by hand, because that wears out the pull-back gear.
- Lights and sound: these run on three AG13/LR44 button cells, which come included. When the sound gets weak, replace them. Keep loose cells away from small children.
- Display: keep it out of direct sunlight and dust it with a soft brush. Our care guide covers the rest.
Complete the set
Your 911 GT3 is one of three Aetron models. Next on the shelf: the Brabus G800 (1:32) and the Lamborghini Revuelto (1:24).
