A Dhanteras Gift for the Car Lover: Buy Metal That Moves
In this article
Short answer: Dhanteras is the day many families buy something made of metal, from gold and silver to new steel or brass utensils. For someone who loves cars, the metal can be a zinc-alloy scale model of the car they love. Our Brabus G800 1:32 (Rs 1,299) has six opening parts, our 911 GT3 1:32 (Rs 1,199) has a pull-back motor, and our Lamborghini Revuelto 1:24 (Rs 1,799) is the biggest of the three. All are sold on Blinkit. Dhanteras falls on Friday 6 November this year.

Key takeaways
- It counts as metal: a diecast model's body is cast from zinc alloy, not moulded from plastic.
- It gets used: unlike a utensil set, a model car comes out of the box and onto a desk.
- Under Rs 2,000: all three picks fit a Dhanteras budget.
- Same-day is possible: Blinkit usually delivers in about 10 minutes where stocked.
Why a diecast car fits Dhanteras
"Diecast" describes how the model is made. Molten zinc alloy is forced into a steel mould under pressure, and when it cools you get a metal body with sharp lines and real weight. That is why a good model feels heavy for its size. Our guide to zinc alloy explains the material in detail.
So if the family buys metal on Dhanteras, a diecast car is a fun way for the car lover in the house to join in. It is still a metal purchase, just one that has doors, lights and a story behind it.
The picks
For the SUV fan: Brabus G800 1:32, Rs 1,299
About 15.1 cm of gloss-black zinc alloy. Six parts open: four doors, the bonnet and the rear door, and inside is a tan interior. It has LED lights and a V8 start-up sound, and it rolls free with no pull-back motor. It is the one to give someone who stops to look at every big SUV on the road. Our Brabus G800 real car vs scale model article compares it with the real thing.
For a first model: 911 GT3 1:32, Rs 1,199
About 13.9 cm long with the swan-neck rear wing. Both doors open, the LED lights work, it plays an engine sound and it has a pull-back motor. It is the most affordable of the three and an easy add-on to another gift.
For the biggest reaction: Lamborghini Revuelto 1:24, Rs 1,799
About 20.4 cm long and 420 g, with scissor doors, working headlights and a pull-back motor. At 1:24 it is the largest model we make, and the one that gets noticed on a shelf.
Did you know this?
The "800" is not a model number. On the real Brabus 800, the number is the engine output: 800 PS (metric horsepower), up from 585 PS in the standard Mercedes-AMG G 63 it is built from. So the badge on the grille of our 1:32 model tells you how powerful the real car is.
How to give it on Dhanteras
- Keep the box: it makes the gift easy to wrap and protects the model afterwards.
- Add it to the puja shelf or the gift table: it sits well next to the other metal buys of the day.
- Give it a home: a clear spot on a shelf turns one model into the start of a collection. Our display guide has easy ideas.
- Keep it clean: a soft brush is enough; our care guide covers the rest.
- Check the age label on the box if it is for a child.
