Prices below are ex-showroom and approximate. Mercedes revises the G-Class list price often, and dealer-level charges vary by state, so treat these as a band rather than a quote.

The on-road jump is brutal at this price point. On the G 400d, Delhi RTO alone is roughly Rs 37 lakh and insurance another Rs 10 lakh. That is about Rs 47 lakh of tax and paperwork on top of the sticker, which on its own would buy a well-specced Fortuner.

What the G 63 actually gives you for Rs 3.74 crore

The AMG G 63 runs a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 with mild-hybrid assistance, making around 585 hp and 850 Nm. Claimed 0-100 kmph is 4.4 seconds and top speed is limited to about 220 kmph. In a vehicle shaped like a shipping container with headlights, that is genuinely absurd, and that absurdity is most of the appeal.

Inside: twin 12.3-inch screens, Nappa leather, an 18-speaker Burmester system, Level 2 ADAS, 360-degree camera. It also keeps three locking differentials and a ladder frame, which almost nobody uses and everybody likes knowing about.

Where does the Brabus G800 fit?

Brabus is a German tuner that buys finished G 63s and rebuilds them. The G800 takes the same V8 to around 800 hp, adds a wide-body carbon kit, quad exhaust, and a cabin trimmed to order. In India a Brabus-converted G-Wagon lands somewhere north of Rs 5 crore depending on spec and import route, and there are only a handful on the road.

Mercedes G63 diecast model price in India

Scale models of the G-Class span nearly two orders of magnitude. Roughly how the market sits in 2026:

Rs 200 to Rs 500 — 1:64 and unlicensed pocket cars

Hot Wheels, Matchbox, Majorette and various no-name sellers cover this band. Majorette in particular does a properly good 1:64 G-Class with opening doors and suspension for a few hundred rupees. At this size you get the silhouette and nothing else. Interiors are a moulded blob, wheels are generic. Perfectly fine for a kid who wants twenty cars in a tin.

Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,000 — 1:32 with features

Rs 2,000 to Rs 6,000 — 1:24 and licensed 1:18 from Bburago and Maisto

Bburago and Maisto both do licensed Mercedes models here, and both are legitimately good value. Bburago's 1:18 range in particular gives you a large, correctly proportioned car with opening everything for far less than a premium brand. If you want size above all else, this is the smartest money in the category. Their weak point is consistent finishing: paint orange-peel and loose-fitting doors vary unit to unit.

Rs 10,000 to Rs 20,000 — premium resin and high-end diecast

GT Spirit, iScale, Kyosho, AUTOart, Minichamps. A 1:18 AMG G 63 from GT Spirit runs around Rs 13,500 in India, and an iScale G 63 W463 around Rs 17,000. These are close to perfect: correct badges, photo-etched details, accurate interiors, real carpet. Most resin models have sealed doors and bonnets, which surprises first-time buyers. Mini GT and Tarmac Works sit slightly below in 1:64 and are excellent for what they are.

None of these arrive in ten minutes. Most are pre-order, import, or limited run, and duty plus shipping can add 30 to 50 percent on top of the listed price.

Which G-Wagon model should you actually buy?

Buy the Rs 1,299 Aetron Brabus G800 if

  • It is a gift and you need it today, not in three weeks
  • The recipient is a kid aged 3 and up who will open the doors repeatedly
  • You want metal weight and working lights without spending five figures
  • You want the Brabus wide-body look specifically, which premium brands rarely make in affordable scale

Buy a Bburago or Maisto 1:18 if

  • Display size matters more than delivery speed
  • You want a licensed Mercedes badge on the grille
  • You have a shelf deep enough for a 25 cm SUV

Buy premium resin if

  • You collect seriously and already own a display case
  • Sealed doors do not bother you
  • Rs 15,000 for a model car is a number you are comfortable saying out loud

Why is the G 63 so expensive in India?

It is imported as a CBU. Customs duty on fully built imported cars above a certain value runs to roughly 100 percent, and GST plus cess stacks on top. A car that costs well under a crore equivalent in Europe lands here at three to four times that. This is also why the on-road number jumps another 15 to 18 percent over ex-showroom.

Is there a cheaper G-Class?

The G 400d diesel at about Rs 2.55 crore ex-showroom is the entry point. Mercedes has also shown the electric G 580, though India availability and pricing have not been confirmed at the time of writing. There is no genuinely affordable G-Class, and there never has been.
