Licensing matters less than most parents think. An officially licensed Lamborghini has correct badging and proportions. An unlicensed one is usually a "supercar" that looks 90% right. What Hot Wheels does better than anyone: durability per rupee and availability. These survive genuine abuse and you can buy them at almost any supermarket. If a child is six or under and everything ends up on the floor, this is the right answer and everything below is overspending.

Majorette (1:64-ish) — roughly Rs 300 to Rs 600 each

Majorette is the French alternative and it beats Hot Wheels on one specific thing: opening parts. Their Lamborghini castings frequently have opening doors or hoods and suspension that actually travels, at roughly 7.5 cm. Rated age 3+. The five-car Lamborghini giftpack (Sian, Urus, Centenario, and two Countaches) is a genuinely good return gift if you can find it in stock in India, which is the catch. Band verdict: best for ages 3 to 7, or for anyone buying in bulk. Weakness: nothing at this size feels like an occasion when unwrapped.

Hot Wheels Premium — around Rs 799 to Rs 849

Premium lines use metal bases instead of plastic, Real Riders rubber tyres, and better paint. The Boulevard Gallardo LP 570-4 Superleggera sits around Rs 849. Still 1:64, still nothing opens. This is a collector product wearing a toy's size, and the card it comes on is half the value to the people buying it. Children do not care about the card.

Kinsmart 1:36 and 1:38 pull-backs — roughly Rs 400 to Rs 800

Kinsmart is what most Indian toy shops actually stock when you ask for a metal Lamborghini. Around 12 cm, pull-back motor, usually two opening doors, decent licensed shapes. Paint is thin and panel gaps are visible if you look. Value is strong.

Mini GT 1:64 — around Rs 1,400

Worth naming because it comes up constantly in searches. Mini GT makes the most accurate 1:64 Lamborghinis available, including the LB-Silhouette Works Murcielago, listed around Rs 1,399 in India. Do not buy these for a child. The detail is fragile, the wing mirrors snap, and the entire appeal is accuracy an eight-year-old cannot see.

Band verdict: Kinsmart is the honest kid pick here. Hot Wheels Premium and Mini GT are collector purchases at kid-adjacent prices.

This is where the car gets big enough to matter. At 1:24 scale a Lamborghini is roughly 20 cm long and weighs 400 grams or more. It has presence in a way that no 1:64 casting does, and that is most of why it works as a gift.

Bburago 1:24 — roughly Rs 1,000 to Rs 3,000

Bburago holds official Lamborghini licensing and it shows in the badging, the box, and the body proportions. Their 1:24 Huracan Performante and Countach LPI 800-4 land in this band depending on seller and discount. Opening doors, opening hood, visible engine, free-rolling wheels.

Honest comparison: Bburago's licensing and model catalogue are better. Their paint depth and panel fit at this price are inconsistent, and no pull-back motor means less for a young child to actually do. Availability in India is through Amazon, Flipkart, and specialist stores like Scale Arts or Superhero Toy Store, so delivery is 2 to 5 days.

Maisto 1:24 — roughly Rs 1,200 to Rs 2,500

Similar territory to Bburago, also licensed, generally a little heavier on the metal and a little plainer on the paint. Fine choice. Pick whichever has the exact Lamborghini the child asked for, because at ages 8 to 14 the model matters more than the brand.

Band verdict: best band for ages 6 to 16 and for gifting. Everything here is a real object that survives display and play.

1:18 scale territory. These are 25 to 28 cm long, often over a kilogram, with opening everything and steerable front wheels. Maisto 1:18 models sit around Rs 3,199. Bburago's premium and Exclusive 1:18 lines run to roughly Rs 7,995.

These are display models. A 1:18 Lamborghini has photo-etched badges, thin wing mirrors, and hinged doors that do not tolerate being slammed a hundred times. Buy one for a teenager who already collects, or for yourself. Do not buy one for a nine-year-old and then spend a year saying "be careful with it". Are Lamborghini diecast cars safe for young children?

Two practical warnings. First, marketplace listings for "Lamborghini diecast" are full of unlicensed lookalikes with no brand at all, and the photos are often stolen from the licensed product.
